Well, I’ll tell you. This holiday season did not finish up in quite the manner I had thought it would. I believe I mentioned that we were waiting on the arrival of a new baby this February. I’ll spare you all the gory details and give the condensed version. Said child decided to make a grand entrance 5 weeks early. So, mid-January saw the arrival of our newest family member. In answer to where in the heck have I been? Well, mainly taking care of him. Awww, isn’t he sweet? Yes, he is. Except at 2 in the am. All kidding aside, we are both doing fine and even with him being 5 weeks early his health is perfect and we couldn’t be more blessed. Now we are just in that fun process of establishing new routines that take into consideration the needs of two children. I would love to be able to say that we are kicking it, but sleep deprivation is just not my friend and I find myself dozing more than I would like to. We are getting there, but it’s just taking me a while. Our smallest blonde is now a month old today and we are thankful that we are all happy and healthy.
However, it has put a real damper on my quilting this last month or so (not to mention the delay I have in responding to emails or phone calls). Don’t worry, I won’t take the opportunity to change this into a child rearing blog. I’m sure there are plenty of those out there if you would like to google them. So, if you have not yet been to this website, I suggest you go. She does a free block of the month and this month she started one that is all about owls. Her patterns are very cute so be sure to take some time to toodle around on her website to see what she has going on. I believe that you will find something that tickles your fancy. Plus she has patterns for sale if you don’t see anything in the free stuff that you like. Anyway, it’s a nice site with some really fun patterns. I also really like the owls.
Wish me luck as I try to get more than 3 hours of consecutive sleep tonight. Smallest blonde was not so cooperative last night in terms of lying down by himself. If I get some more sleep, I just might be able to finagle some motivation to clear off my dining room table so I can have a spot to start tracing dinosaurs for the bigger blonde’s dino quilt. Cheers!
